Christ Brings Forth the New Creation

New Jerusalem is the center of God’s new creation. To form the original creation only required God to speak, “Let there be light….Let the earth sprout grass…” But much more was required, and accomplished for producing the new creation.

To bring forth the new creation, God became a man, lived in Nazareth for 30 years, then ministered for a few more years. Then Jesus went to the cross and died. In His death He removed the barriers between men (Eph. 2:14-15) “that He might create the two [Jews and Gentiles] in Himself into one new man, so making peace.” This new man is the new creation.

In His resurrection God regenerated all His predestinated people that we might be part of this new creation. Now we are begin renewed by the Spirit (Titus 3:5) to have the inward reality of the new creation.

Hebrews 7:25 declares that the Christ seated in the heavens “is able to save to the uttermost those who come forward to God through Him, since He lives always to intercede for them.” This too is part of the bringing forth of the new creation.

Ultimately New Jerusalem descends out of heaven to be on earth as the center of the completed new creation.

I hope we can see how much time, how much energy, and how much wisdom God has put into the work of His new creation. Therefore, the New Jerusalem, as the ultimate consummation of God’s new creation work, must be very, very significant.*

Buying things isn’t necessarily bad, but it’s striking how quickly the world tries to steer our hearts from gratitude toward discontentment, comparison, and a scarcity mindset. But Jesus teaches us an upside-down way of living. He taught lessons like: "the first shall be last," "whoever wants to gain
