Christ Can Be Magnified in Us

God created man in His own image so that man could express Him. The ability to express God depends on man’s receiving God in Christ as his life. The more this life grows in man, the more God is manifested in this age, plus great promise for the future manifestation in New Jerusalem.

New JerusalemHere are a few more verses about God being expressed in man in this age. No doubt the expression will greatly increase in New Jerusalem, a city “having the glory of God.”

Because the life of Jesus Christ is resurrection life, it can be manifested in difficult circumstances*. In 2 Corinthians 4:10 Paul says he and his co-workers were “always bearing about in the body the putting to death of Jesus that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”

Based on the prayers of the Philippians and “the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ” Paul says “my earnest expectation and hope [is] that in nothing I will be put to shame, but with all boldness, as always, even now Christ will be magnified in my body, whether through life or through death” (Phil. 1:19-20)

A specific example of this, while Paul was in a Roman prison, is Philippians 1:13, “My bonds have become manifest as being in Christ among the whole Praetorian guard (Caesar’s imperial guard) and to all the rest.” We all have this same Christ and the same Spirit; Lord, replicate this manifestation in all of Your believers!
