Commentary on Luke 5: How to receive a net breaking miracle
Posted on February 9, 2017
Read Luke 5 vs. 1-5 – 1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.
4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net.
Simon Peter received a net-breaking miracle and you can follow his principle to receive such a miracle.
- You need divine favour. Peter was not the only fisherman washing his net when Jesus came to the lake of Gennesaret, but Jesus singled him out and approached him. Your miracle shall find you and locate you in Jesus name
- Peter was not the only ship owner by the lake of Gennesaret. There were two ships there, but Jesus decided to enter the ship of Peter. The Lord shall enter your ship today in Jesus name.
- Peter released his ship to Jesus. There is a ship in your hand, you need to release to Jesus so that you can receive a blessing.
- Peter obeyed simple instruction. He was not wise in his eyes. He thrusted out the ship and launched the nets according to the commandment of Jesus. As you obeyed divine instructions, you shall receive net-breaking miracles in Jesus name.
- Peter was patient. He waited patiently as Jesus preached from his ship. Jesus sermon inside the ship, could possibly have taken hours. He did not complain. He did not hurry Jesus up, even though he was tired from all night toiling without profits. Impatience shall not cause you to miss your miracle in Jesus name.
- Peter believed the word. “At thy word, I will let down the net” – 5 – And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net.
Hold on to the word, and you shall receive a net-breaking miracle in Jesus name.
- Peter let down the ship and the net for Jesus. I repeat again that there is something in your hands you need to let down for Jesus to receive a miracle.
- Everything obeys the word of Jesus. Even fishes know their creator. The fishes filled the net of Peter at the word of Jesus. What happened was that the fishes heard their creator preaching, and they came to worship Him, and in the process got caught in Peter’s net. As you allow Jesus to enter and use your ship, every material thing- profits, fortunes, goodness and open doors shall pursue you in Jesus name.
- You need helpers and partners to overcome recession. Peter had fishing partners that helped me to draw up the net breaking miracle of fishes, otherwise he would have got drown. He had helper fishermen that assisted him to possess his blessings. You need helpers to connect you.
- Don’t be greedy. The ship of Peter alone could not accommodate his miracles. He had to call for assistance. If Peter was greedy, his miracle would had sunk him. Be contented when your miracle comes.
- Maintain good relationship with others. If Peter did not have good relationship with the other ship owners and fishermen, he would not have received support and his ship would had sunk.
- Lastly, when God blesses you, the whole world will know. God’s blessings are in abundance. God’s blessings will make you a blessing to others. Peter affected the fellow ship owner and fishermen with his blessings. His ship alone could not accommodate his blessings, and he had to share his blessings with others. When God blesses you, you shall become a blessing.
Prayer
- God of Simon Peter, give me a net-breaking miracle in Jesus name.
