Are you worried and anxious about anything in your life? Did you know that you can get what you want? Yes, whatever you want. Just delight in the Lord. Here’s how.

Today’s mass readings spoke tons to me. That’s probably why You didn’t speak much on our walk earlier?

Reading 1, First Corinthians 4:1-5

5 For that reason, do not judge anything before the due time, until the Lord comes; he will bring to light everything that is hidden in darkness and reveal the designs of all hearts. Then everyone will receive from God the appropriate commendation

Do not judge anything before the due time.

First off, about not judging anything before the due time. Here’s why this scripture verse spoke to me.

My sister and I were talking yesterday and she said that I should stop doing my Shopee Royals PH: Smart Living shop and just focus on starting and building my Dxn Shopee store, which I have been delaying because I’m not sure I can handle the extra effort, time, and money it will entail. But I think I should push through with it cause I actually dreamed about it so it might be a God-idea too.

Anyway, regarding my RoyalsPH: Smart Living Shopee shop, I was tempted to agree with her cause it’s been almost 3 months and I haven’t seen any results with it yet except a few sales from my family.

But You’re saying to me today to never judge anything, including my shop, a dropshipping store, before it’s due time. I’ve subscribed to my dropshipping company for my shop for 6 months and so I’ll have to wait until then to determine whether I should continue or not, but not before that. I can’t do anything much about it now anyway. 

Also, I couldn’t say I made a mistake cause I have prayed to You about this before I started. You even gave me my shop’s name with the purpose of showing hospitality and providing for the needs of God’s children. Hence, Royals.

In fact, I was scared of starting it because of the financial commitment it will take: P7999/month so P47,994 for 6 months. Good thing I got 50% off cause I got the 6 mos package. So I’m only paying 3,999 per month. But I remember You said in Isaiah: “Do not be afraid, I will help you.” That’s why I started.

Now I just have to claim the blessings of obedience in Deuteronomy 28 – that He will bless all the works of my hands.

And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you heed the voice of the Lord your God.

Blessed shall you be in the city and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beasts, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock.

Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading trough. Blessed shall you be when you come in and blessed shall you be when you go out.

The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouse and in all that you undertake. And He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you.

The Lord will establish you as a people holy to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. And all people of the earth shall see that you are called by the name [and in the presence of] the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.

And the Lord shall make you have a surplus of prosperity, through the fruit of your body, of your livestock, and of your ground, in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.

The Lord shall open to you His good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain of your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

And the Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you this day and are watchful to do them.Deuteronomy 28:2‭-‬13 AMPC

A Surplus of Prosperity

Wow. A surplus of prosperity! First time I heard of it. I have just been claiming prosperity and now You’re saying to me You’re going to make me have a surplus of prosperity?!

Talk about blessings big enough that no room can contain them.

In fact, a “commanded blessing” in another version is a guaranteed blessing.

“The Lord will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. Deuteronomy 28:8 NLT

A guaranteed blessing on everything I do. Blessings upon me in all of my storehouse – my savings and investment accounts, and all my businesses.

Thank you, Lord!

The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouse and in all that you undertake. And He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you. Deuteronomy 28:8 AMPC

Delight in the Lord

Secondly, today’s Responsorial Psalm talks about You giving me the desires of my heart, becoming my refuge in times of trouble: 

Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 37:3-4, 5-6, 27-28, 39-40

3 Put your trust in Yahweh and do right, make your home in the land and live secure.

4 Make Yahweh your joy and he will give you your heart’s desires.

5 Commit your destiny to Yahweh, be confident in him, and he will act,

6 making your uprightness clear as daylight, and the justice of your cause as the noon.

27 Turn your back on evil and do good, you will have a home for ever,

28 for Yahweh loves justice and will not forsake his faithful. Evil-doers will perish eternally, the descendants of the wicked be annihilated,

39 The upright have Yahweh for their Saviour, their refuge in times of trouble; 40 Yahweh helps them and rescues them, he will rescue them from the wicked, and save them because they take refuge in him. 

In another version Psalm 37 states: 

Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed.

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.

And He will make your uprightness and right standing with God go forth as the light, and your justice and right as [the shining sun of] the noonday.

Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

But the meek [in the end] shall inherit the earth and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. [Ps. 37:29; Matt. 5:5.] They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil; and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. Psalm 37:3‭-‬7‭, ‬11‭, ‬19 AMPC

You know every desire and secret petitions that I have. I only have to lean on, rely on, and be confident in You.

It’s a lesson I still have to learn. To be totally dependent and confident in You.

Seek God first

In our walk this morning, I came upon these flocks of birds – sparrows, I think – frolicking on the seaside. There were so many of them, all without a care in the world. 

And this sight, which is most of the time happening during our walk, always reminds me that they are carefree because my heavenly Father feeds them. How much more will He take care of me and you for whom He gave up His only Beloved Son, Jesus, to die so we could live?

And I’m always reminded of Matthew 6: 

Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? Matthew 6:26 AMPC

This sight of birds jumping and flying around on the ground always soothes me because sometimes, like today, I’m just so anxious thinking of my finances and all the bills, debt payments, and living expenses to take care of.

And I remember this truth: Take no thought for tomorrow.  My Father knows what I need before I ask Him.

And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life?

Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear?

For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.

Matthew 6:27‭, ‬31‭-‬32 AMPC

And further down the chapter:

But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.

Get what you want

What a reminder. If I delight in You, I seek (aim at and strive) after You and Your way of doing things and what You would have me do, all these things I desire, even the secret petitions of my heart that even I don’t know myself, will be added to me. I can get what I want. Yes, whatever I want.

So once again, I surrender to You as I can only do these days. I want Your best for me. I just pray that You will clearly tell me what You want me to do so I will not be confused and that I will always obey. Cause I admit, I have the tendency to actually just disregard what You say or obey at a later date. Help me to obey instantly as soon as You say one thing.

Learn to strive after God, to seek Him more than anything.

He will provide you with all that you need and even want and the secret petitions of your heart. Can you believe that?

Believe it!

So here’s the great news: you can get what you want – if you delight in the Lord.

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. John 15:7 NABRE

This verse the Lord gave me recently as I was walking with Him during my daily prayer walk (30 mins walk daily). I was just dreaming of whatever I wanted my life to be as I was walking and then I saw John 15:7 in red paint on the front of a delivery truck. I looked it up in my bible at the Blessed Sacrament Adoration chapel (cause I always end up there after my walk) and viola – my own personal promise from the Lord of my dreams being done for me if I remain in Him and His words remain in me, words that I have been declaring every day during my prayer walk.

Now I’m sharing it with you too.

• Seek after God daily
• Delight in the Lord always
• Trust in Him completely

Dear Lord,

As always, I pray that You do in me what You want in order to do through me what You will. Cause I know that if I delight in You, Lord, I will get whatever I want. In Jesus’ Name.
