Do not lose yourself trying to return to what God was helping you get away from
Proverbs 19:21:
"Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."
You had everything planned out meticulously. The wedding venue was booked, the invitations were sent, and you were ready to start a new chapter of your life. But then you discovered the painful truth: your partner had been unfaithful. Your world shattered in an instant. The dreams you had built together vanished like smoke in the wind.
Or perhaps it was the anticipation of finally owning a car that consumed your thoughts. You had saved diligently, researched tirelessly, and finally settled on the perfect model. But then the unexpected blow came - a pink slip, a termination notice. The job you relied on, the steady income that fueled your aspirations, suddenly vanished. Panic sets in as you confront the harsh reality of unemployment.
In situations like these, anxiety grips your chest. How could your partner do this to you? How will you make ends meet?
You wrestle with the desire to salvage the relationship, to make things right.Your mind races with possibilities, considering options to find new employment, to regain stability in your life.
However, perhaps it would do you better if you stopped to consider that maybe God ruined your plans so your plans would not ruin you.
In the midst of your disappointment and frustration, there might be a higher purpose at play. It is possible that what seems like a setback is actually a divine intervention, guiding you away from a path that would ultimately lead to greater harm or unhappiness. Instead of clinging stubbornly to your own designs, take a moment to reflect on the possibility that there is a bigger plan in motion.
Consider your dream of moving to a new city for a job opportunity that seemed perfect on paper. You had your heart set on this career advancement, convinced it was the key to your professional success and personal happiness. However, just as you were preparing to make the move, unexpected circumstances arose, causing the job offer to fall through. In the midst of your disappointment and frustration, consider that perhaps this unexpected turn of events is paving the way for an even better opportunity or leading you towards a different path that aligns more closely with your true calling and purpose in life.
On the contrary, if you push through with what you want instead of God's, you may lose yourself in the process.
Insisting on your own plans despite the signs and obstacles might lead you down a path of self-destruction. By disregarding the possibility of divine intervention, you risk straying from your true purpose and values. In your pursuit of control and fulfillment, you may find yourself overwhelmed by the consequences of your actions.
Trust in the belief that God's wisdom surpasses your own, and that ultimately, His guidance will lead you to where you need to be. Surrendering to this notion may bring you a sense of peace and acceptance amidst the chaos of disrupted plans.
