God is Leading Many Sons into Glory !

Hebrews 2:10 tells us that God is “leading many sons into glory.” And Colossians 1 declares “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Jesus Christ is our hope today and New Jerusalem is the ultimate, eternal glory into which we are being led.

New JerusalemThe glory of New Jerusalem, “having the glory of God” (Rev. 21:11), is the glory of God saturating and being expressed through the city.

How are we being led into glory? Hebrews 2:11 says, “He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of One.” Jesus Christ is sanctifying us, infusing us with His divine, eternal life, for our passage into glory.

Our first step of sanctification is in 1 Peter 1:2, “in the sanctification of the Spirit unto the obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.” This working of the Spirit brings us to the point of our initial believing (“obedience”). The blood of Jesus, shed on the cross, is our positional sanctification, transferring us from the sinful world to a standing among “those who have been sanctified by faith” in Jesus (Acts 26:18).

Following this, we daily can experience the Lord’s sanctifying work mentioned in Hebrews 2:11. It is also presented in Ephesians 5:26 and 1 Thessalonians 5:23. This on-going sanctification separates us inwardly from our old manner of life to a new, righteous, holy living which is our pathway to the glory of New Jerusalem.
