God’s Inseparable Love for me
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” -Romans 8:38-39
Think about the last time you faced something really tough. Maybe you lost a job, broke up, or faced a health scare.
Did you feel like you were hanging by a thread in those moments?
I've been there. It's in those rock-bottom moments that I remember this verse. It's like a warm blanket on a cold night, right?
The part 'neither death nor life' covers our whole journey. God's love doesn't flicker or fade from our first cry to our last breath. It's not based on our successes or failures. You could have the best or worst days, and God's love remains the same.
Let’s talk about the 'neither angels nor demons' part. This is about the unseen battles we face. Have you ever felt like you're in a tug-of-war between good and bad choices?
Or maybe you've felt a nudge to do something good, like help a stranger or forgive someone. That's the spiritual realm at play. And in all of that, God's love is this unbreakable shield around us.
'Neither the present nor the future.' This one hits home, doesn't it? We all worry. Will I get that job? What if I never find 'the one'?
What about my kids' future? But here's the deal – these worries can't erode God's love for us. It’s like an anchor in the stormy sea of our thoughts.
Then there's 'nor any powers.' This could be anything that tries to boss us around – addictions, peer pressure, societal expectations. You name it. Sometimes, we feel chained down, but guess what? These chains have no power to drag us away from God’s love.
'Neither height nor depth.' Imagine standing on top of a mountain or diving into the deepest ocean. In both places, God's love is right there with you. It's not like a cell signal that you lose in remote places. God's love is the ultimate 'everywhere network.'
And finally, 'nor anything else in all creation.' This is God's way of saying, 'In case I missed anything, it's covered.' Your quirks, mistakes, secret thoughts – nothing you can do or be will make God love you any less.
So, what do we do with this amazing, unbreakable love? First, let it sink in. Like, sink in. You are loved by the Creator of the universe. That’s a big deal. Then, spread it around. Show that same unconditional love to others. Forgive that person who wronged you. Lend a hand to someone in need. Be a living example of God's love.
Remember Romans 8:38-39 when life gets tough. Picture these words as a strong, unshakable foundation that you can stand on no matter what. God’s love isn’t just a nice thought; it’s a life-changing reality. And it’s yours, today and every day.
