God’s New Testament Building (2)
Multiple New Testament verses describe God’s New Testament building. New Jerusalem, the consummation of this building, shares these features.
God’s Building is in Christ Jesus
and of God we are all in Christ Jesus (1 Cor. 1:30)
Ephesians 2:21, “In whom all the building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord.”
Ephesians 2:22, “In whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in spirit.”
Colossians 2:7, “Having been rooted and being built up in Him…”
God’s Building is Accomplished in His Believers by the Rich Supply from the Head, Jesus Christ
Acts 20:32, “And now I commit you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who have been sanctified.”
Ephesians 3:17, “That Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith, that you, being rooted [growth] and grounded [building] in love,”
Ephesians 4:15-16, “…the Head, Christ, out from whom all the Body, being joined together and being knit together through every joint of the rich supply and through the operation in the measure of each one part, causes the growth of the Body unto the building up of itself in love.”
