He Is Faithful.

LISTEN INSTEAD

Have you ever thought about what it means to have a God whose very name means faithful? The word faithful means that someone is steady, reliable, keeps promises, is loyal and consistent— And we can all use a little more of that in our lives right?

Considering that God is faithful, we can rest in his will for us; we do not have to be taken down by the principalities of this world, who are the opposite of the one who loves us beyond understanding. See, the opposite, being unfaithful, means to break promises, be inaccurate, disloyal…a false copy of something — To be the embodiment of the what is – counterfeit.Being faithful is something that is true to fact or an accurate original standard – a true copy of something, not a false one.  And God is faithful in every sense of the word, which means, he will NOT fail us and he is NOT counterfeit.

Our heavenly Father is the embodiment of faithfulness, which means he is 100% true to the promises and the plans he has for us, and those plans are good even through the processes of life.  This means that he is consistent in his promises even when there is suffering, pain, hardships or what we may view as a "delay" in human terms.  He is the God that remains faithful and his faithfulness is true.

God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man that he should change his mind.

– Numbers 23:19 ESV

God does not lack in decisiveness and is not irresolute (unsure) like we tend to be.  He knows the complete and total future of our lives; it is up to us to realize that the processes of life require surrender, patience (walking in the fruit of the spirit) and being *faithful in our relationship with the Father — following after his example to us.

Surrendering it all to God's hands, denying ourselves and agendas daily (taking up the cross) will help us become efficient and effective *faithful disciples for Christ.  We may not always feel like doing these things, but then again, it is not  about feelings; it is about knowing that God is God whether we feel something or not, and that the word of God is a promise to us.  Diving into the word daily is essential to life and living fully in the path God is calling us to.  It is a way to show faithfulness in our relationship with him.

This week I have created a short printable for us to help search our hearts and draw us near to God in the place we might find ourselves in within our relationship with Jesus.  I pray that you will see the faithfulness of God throughout every situation that is happening within your life and family.

For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. – Mathew 16:25 ESV
