Helpful Resource Exposing Poor Responses To Affairs - Divorce Minister
If we hear someone murdered, we don’t say, “it could have been me.” If we hear someone robbed a bank, we don’t hear pastors say, “it could have been me.” But when it comes to cheating on your wife? Oh, yeah, that could have been me.
-Sheila Wray Gregoire, “The Terrible Takes on Philip Yancey’s 8-Year Affair,” January 12, 2026.
While this posted resource is not necessarily hot off the press, I found the commentary rather timeless. Sheila Wray Gregoire does an excellent job in her post of exposing the problematic nature of “Christian” responses to moral, adulterous affairs.
Gregoire exposes how these responses circle the wagons around cheaters who are usually men at the cost of women.
I recommend that you read the full post by Gregoire (link here). As it has many more nuggets than the one I quoted at the top of this post.
