REST IS AVAILABLE

Memorise: “For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him” (Psalm 12:5)

Read: Exodus 1:8-11

`

The children of Israel walked into Egypt as free men and women in the days of Joseph. But years later, these free men became bond men and slaves. One irony of our time, is that people often walk into bondage on their own volition.

Your legs will not take you into slavery in Jesus’ Name. For failing to heed the warnings of the Spirit, many believers have walked into traps -some are life long traps in marriage, business, jobs, school, etc. Any job which takes all your time for God, yourself and your family, is a death trap. If you do not dump it, it will turn you into a slave and heap heavy burdens on you.

Freedom is very precious. You may never know its value until it is lost. Never allow fleshly desires to force you into relationships that could drown you in hell. Believer, what are you doing, planning to court or wed that unbeliever?

It was when a king that did not know Joseph came up that he turned the policies of Egypt against Israel. That was the beginning of 430 years of slavery! There are legitimate hobbies or past time that have become a point of enslavement.

Reading newspapers, watching the television, visiting internet websites, etc. are legitimate things. But you must handle them with care lest you become their victim. While in that bondage, the Israelites partook of the Passover meal and they regained their freedom. Are you presently in bondage? As you take the next Holy Communion, you can be free. It does not matter where you were held captive. Every yoke of captivity will be broken from your life today.

Israel ate a meal and their joy returned. The Lord will destroy the presence of sorrow in your life this season. He will restore joy to you. After the death of one of the kings of Egypt, the children of Israel cried to God and He heard (Exodus 2:23-25).

In Psalm 12:5, God promises to arise for those who are oppressed and relocate them. Are you oppressed by sickness, poverty, pain, constant defeat and failure? The Lord will arise for you today. He will relocate you from your place of torment to a place of rest.

There is rest for you. At the communion table, by faith as you partake of the bread and wine, receive rest in every area you have been struggling.
Father, thank you for the rest you have offered me. I receive it now in Jesus’ Name
