How Can A Star Pinpoint Something On The Earth?

I’ve laid on my back in an open field gazing into the night sky. I observed some constellations and clusters of stars made up of bright ones and little ones. I wonder how can a star pinpoint something here on the earth?

“Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” Matthew 2:2

Once I was watching a tv show where a child went missing on Christmas Eve. As the star of the show was looking in a wooded area, a light shined down from the sky. Low and behold it illuminated the lost child.

I thought to myself, “that was quite farfetched.” But wait a minute, when the wise men left King Herod, isn’t that what happened for them?

After this interview the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. Matthew 2:9

I recently read that two planets and one of the larger known stars probably made an alignment. Thus, giving the visual effect of one large star.

That’s a good explanation, but it didn’t answer the question. How can a star or a cluster of stars pinpoint something on the earth?

Let’s say you are driving down the road and the moon is right in front of you. Have you ever caught up to it? No! Has it ever shined down on one single object? No!

The Answer Is Simple

How Can A Star Pinpoint Something

The more investigation we do, the simpler the answer becomes. The only way a star could pinpoint something on the earth is because God did it. It’s like the Lord turned the porch light on for these wise men.

When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Matthew 2:10-11

God still performs the unbelievable and the unexplainable. An incident recently happened in our household. My wife is expanding the her ministry.

In praying, she asked God for confirmation for this new direction in her life. Then she asked Him how she could make resources available to those ministered to.

One Sunday afternoon I opened our front door and there stood a box on the porch. It came from Amazon to my wife.

I turned and asked, “what did you order from Amazon?” Her response was, “I have never ordered anything from them.”

The box was filled with 42 books of 11 different titles all from the same author. And they all dealt with the subject of her ministry. The author and my wife didn’t and still don’t know each other.

We found out though through a mutual friend that he, the author ordered them. He never received his order, so he asked Amazon about it. Their answer was, “we shipped them out but they went to someone else.”

Yes, someone that’s not even in their database. The only answer possible was an intervention from the Lord. God answered both of my wife’s prayers with the miracle of a box of books.

Do You Need A Star To Pinpoint Something For You?

He still gives direction. For the wise men, it was a miracle star in the sky. For my wife, it was a miracle box on the porch. Do you need direction? Trust Him, He will give it to you!

Lord, scientists can explain a bright star in the sky. But one that gives precise direction can come only from you. Give us direction to stay in the center of your will. Thank you for opening miraculous doors when we need them.

Maybe you need a miracle. Check out this related post called Do You Need A Miracle?
