How to receive divine help and direction

Memorise: “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” (Matthew 7:11)

Read: Matthew 2:1-10

In Luke 2:7-14, when Heaven came to earth, the earth reacted. Unfortunately, instead of the whole earth, just a fraction called wise men, reacted. Only wise men and women still seek Jesus, irrespective of earthly positions and status. Enjoying Heaven on earth is strictly limited to Heaven seekers.

Proverbs 8:17 says, “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me”. John 3:16 talks of the general love and mercy of God. But the above scripture talks of another kind of love – a special kind. Not everyone who benefits from the general, benefits from this unique love. You have to reciprocate God’s general love to a point before you can be specially loved. You have to seek God early in life and serve Him from your youth. You have to set time apart to seek Him daily – early in the morning. Your day is incomplete without first seeking God.

“The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: But they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing” (Psalm 34:10).

The attitude of some believers show that they know their needs more than God, hence they cater for themselves at the expense of the Kingdom.

Matthew 7:11 says, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”

You can never be more acquainted with good things than the Source of all good things (James 1:17). God knows how to lavish His goodness upon His favorites. Are you one of God’s favorites?

God sent a star to guide the wise men. If you seek Heaven, you will be guided by God. With divine guidance, you can achieve so much in one day than you can ever achieve on your own in several years.

During my Ph.D. Dissertation, I faced a problem nobody had solved before. I came out with 186 simultaneous equations. Anyone who is familiar with Mathematics knows that two simultaneous equations are a handful, not to think of 186. After battling fruitlessly with the Maths puzzle one night, I decided to study my Bible before going to bed. I opened to Exodus 14 which talks about the parting of the Red Sea.

After reading it, the Lord said that that was the solution to my equation. I wondered how the story in the passage could be relevant to solving 186 problems in 1974. The Lord guided me and suddenly I saw a common strand in the equations on the left hand, and something common in the equations on the right hand. He asked me to solve those on the left, and then those on the right, before combining them. He said that was what happened at the Red Sea. In five hours, I finished what I have been working on for 18 months. Are you a Heaven seeker? Divine guidance is yours.

Do you know the Bible contains a myriad of solutions to different problems of life? Ask God to open your eyes.
