How to totally depend on God
How to totally depend on God

Memorise: “The horse is prepared against the day of battle; but safety is of the LORD” (Prov 21:31)Read: Exodus 17:8-13
At the Red Sea shore, God asked Moses to lift his hands to part the sea. Moses’ hands were special hands. Once in a while, God raises up a man and gives him special hands. In the battle between Israel and Amalek, it was the hands of Moses that determined the result of the war. Whenever his hands were raised, the Israeli soldiers had the upper hand, but whenever they went down, the Amalekites gained momentum. Aaron and Hur observed how the hands of Moses affected the war.If at the time he was tired of lifting the hands, his lieutenants had raised theirs, they would have lost the battle. They recognized Moses had special hands so they provided him a seat and made him comfortable. Thereafter, they provided support for his hands. It was those hands, not the Israeli army that gave them the victory. Also, in Exodus 4:4, when those hands touched a serpent by the tail, the serpent became a rod. This means while many believers depend on the Gospel shoes of Evangelism to tread on serpents and scorpions, Moses’ hand could silence demons.
Apart from having special hands, lifting the hands also means total dependence on God for victory. Many attribute their success to their strategies, efforts, human and material resources. You can have all that but fail if God does not deliver you the victory. The Israeli army could not prevail with all their weapons of war until Moses looked up to God for victory.
Proverbs 21:31 says, “The horse is prepared against the day of battle; but safety is of the LORD”. The horse has been designed by God as a war machine; yet it is not able to deliver the victory that God has not released. Are you trusting your abilities, intellect, position or money to see you through?
You will be disappointed! Thank God for them but put your trust in the Lord. This season, the Lord is calling you to total dependence on Him. The more you look up to Him, the easier your victories will be delivered to you. However, there are certain powers that are in the hands of certain men of God. They are not physical.
Hence, if a genuine man of God raises his hands to bless you, respond with a resounding Amen. If he raises his hands to curse you, immediately fall on your knees to beg. Do you have special hands?
The configuration and delivery of victory are determined by the direction you look towards during the battle. Where is your gaze directed?
