Intimate Knowledge of God ~ Christine Malkemes

I refuse to take for granted the most extraordinary gift known to humankind – intimate knowledge of God.

We cannot ignore His love, faithfulness, righteousness, justice, and care. When we yield to His blessings will come. The soul refreshed in His presence and the spirit fully awake.

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, Your justice like the great deep. O Lord, You preserve both man and beast. How priceless is Your unfailing love? Both high and low among men find their refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They feast on the abundance of Your house; You give them drink from Your over of delight. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light, we see light.

Psalm 36:5-9

It is Unique.

Something unique happens when we come to the Lord with an open Bible and a yielded heart. He unfolds wisdom in His word and reveals the nature of His character. I feel blessed beyond measure. My heart burns within me as I read it out loud.

“Continue Your love to those who know You, Your righteousness to the upright in heart.

Ps 36:10

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord and trust in Him, and He will do this.

Psalm 37: 3-5 and 7a

Trust. Dwell. Delight. Commit.

These are things we can freely do as we become more and more acquainted with the Lord. They’re more than words. We trust Him that He is faithful. We dwell in the land He’s given us.

We delight in the Lord as He gives us the desires of our hearts. In the end, we commit ourselves to Him because only He makes living life possible.

We, human creatures, have an inner life. Our inward place is the soul. The soul is the essence of who we are. It is the soul that must turn to God for a relationship. Our fallen nature is the self-destruct button in the soul.

Daily Fellowship with the Holy

As Sister Disciples, we are to repent daily and accumulate knowledge of the Holy. We cannot trust an unredeemed self to find eternal life.

The intimate place is the center of the soul set aside to commune with our Creator God. When we realize we are in the face of God, we fear Him rightly. As we come under the authority of Holy Scripture and the Author of Sacred Script, then, and only then, can we know God.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom…

Psalm 111:10a

Step into the Intimate

Intimacy with God. It is as simple and complicated as trusting the Lord as He holds us with His righteous right hand and says, “Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be afraid, for I am your God.

Do you know God? Do you know Him intimately?

If not, then today is the day.

Do not delay.

The Lord, your God, is waiting for you.

For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, “Do not fear; I will help you.”

Isaiah 41:3

An Inspired Challenge for Wives This Father's Day - Today Can Be Different

Consider asking your husband how you can pray for him each day. (If the father of your children doesn’t live with you, for whatever reason, remember to put him on your prayer list too.) Your husband wants nothing more than to succeed, but he probably struggles with issues he’s afraid to admit, even to himself. He may feel insecure about being a dad, especially if he didn’t have the benefit of a good role model. Or maybe he feels more like an understudy because he’s “only” a stepdad.
