Is your relationship with God flourishing or faltering?

Our relationship with God is something that is significant in our lives. Like the beating of our soul, it keeps us rooted and resilient. How is your relationship with God going? Together, let us dive in and solve it.

Signs of a flourishing relationship with God

Let us start with the positives: signs that our relationship with God is flourishing. It is comparable to how a well-watered and well-kept garden blooms.

Deepening spiritual practices: Our souls require nourishment just as much as our bodies do. We are nourishing our souls with goodness when we spend time in prayer, the Bible, and fellowship with other believers. Maintaining these routines consistently is an indication of a robust relationship with God.

Strong sense of peace and joy: Have you ever had that comforting sense that everything will work out in the end? That is like a hug from God assuring us everything will work out. Also, there is this contagious joy that radiates from within.

Acts of service and love towards others: Love is like a boomerang; no matter where we throw it, it always comes back to us. We are compelled to share God's love with others when our relationship with Him is strong. Our deeds demonstrate the love we have received from God, whether it is lending a hand to a friend in need or simply grinning at a complete stranger.

Signs of a faltering relationship with God

Let us now discuss the negative aspects of our relationship with God, which may require additional attention. It is similar to when we forget to water our favorite plant, which begins to wilt.

Neglect of spiritual disciplines: We let our souls become parched and dry when we neglect our Bible reading, skip prayer, or skip church.

Struggles with doubt and despair: Worries and doubts can depress us and make it difficult for us to feel near God. Like navigating through a dense fog, we require God's light to help us.

Lack of compassion and forgiveness towards others: We become egotistical and aloof, unable to extend forgiveness and love to people around us.

How is your relationship with God going now? Do you observe indicators of success or failure? Remember that you can always press the reset button to resume your journey. No matter how far we wander, God's love is like an endless well—always there to replenish our souls. Let us pause for a moment to ponder, reaffirm our relationship, and allow God's love to overflow into our lives again.
