Jesus Loves Us is an Amazing Truth to Embrace

During Lenten Season we are reminded that Jesus loves us and sacrificed His life for us.

But we can also start feeling that we are not where we should be spiritually.

Have you completed everything you intended for this Lenten season? Did you strive and achieve heroically? Did you keep resolutions and promises? Did you grow spiritually by leaps and bounds?

There are some of us that may have experienced spiritual awakenings and breakthroughs and for that, I truly applaud you!

However, if life’s circumstances have gotten in the way of some of your spiritual goals, then read on, because Jesus loves us despite our struggles.

Jesus Loves Us Despite or Unmet Goals

This Lenten season has been different and sometimes difficult for many of us in so many ways. While there are some of us who have faithfully kept Lenten promises, there are many of us (yours truly included) who meant well but couldn’t seem to stay the course consistently throughout.

Thankfully, we have a Merciful Savior who knows we fall short and loves us anyway! Jesus loves us despite our unmet goals! He sees and knows our hearts. He does not judge us based on our failures.

Lenten Season is a Good Time to Reflect

Although most of Lent has passed us by, we have the blessed opportunity to refocus and refresh our spirituality during this final week celebrating the life, death and resurrection of Christ.

Between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, we can retrace the steps of our Lord and have the opportunity to spiritually follow as He enters Jerusalem for the last time, shares a parting meal with his closest friends, and enters into his Passion and Crucifixion.

Jesus’ step by step journey to Golgotha shows that He loved us “to the end” (John 13:1) by denying His own life and hanging on a cross that each one of us may have eternal life. Through every rejection, bruise and stab of pain, He demonstrated His love.

We can stand guard outside his tomb and await his Resurrection. We can spend this week immersed in His presence celebrating the great sacrifice He made on our behalf.

We can’t redo the last few weeks, but we can turn this final week into a strong finish of gratitude and faith.

Even though our world seems different and strange and we are celebrating Easter like never before, I pray that we can focus our heart on what was done on the Cross and that our families may experience being newly grounded in the love of Christ.

We have a new identity in Christ because of His great sacrifice for us. There is no greater example or demonstration of Jesus’ love for us.

We can read the story of Jesus’ Passion week in Matthew 26-28.

Bible Verses that Reinforce that He loves us

“How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” Psalm 36:7

“For the Father himself loves you dearly because you love me and believe that I came from God.” John 16:27

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ.” Ephesians 2:4-5
