Know About The Importance Of Baptism And First Communion
The word baptism comes out from the Greek word “baptizo”, meaning wash or immerse. The ceremony of baptism symbolizes of washing our sins by immersing into the water and making a covenant, a relationship with God. Water baptism is essential because even Jesus had taken water baptism. Baptism is the righteousness which everyone needs to fulfill. Since Jesus is our model baptism is the right way to get connected to Christ. Jesus says in Matthew 3:15 “But Jesus, answering, said to him, “Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Water baptism is a God-ordained act of obedience and getting union with Christ and the Holy Trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
There are two baptisms invites which the Bible shows us: One is water baptism, and another is spiritual baptism which is baptism of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus obeyed and took baptism from John, Holy Spirit in the form of dove sat on Him, and heavens opened proclaiming “He is my beloved Son”. The baptism through water is a confirmation or an entry ticket to walk into the kingdom of God, and the second baptism is through the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. To enter into the Kingdom of God one should have both the baptism. Jesus said it clearly in John 3:3 “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
Communion means Come In Union with Christ. Only people in union with Christ have fellowship with Him. It is an act of taking part in the body of Christ in remembering His sacrifice which He did for our sins. The first communion is always special and a Holy day because children receiving, for the first time, the body and blood of Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 10:16-17, where Paul says, “The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.” This displays us that communion involves both a special fellowship with Christ and also holy union with the “one body” of Christ (“we who are many are one body”). One needs to be repented for the sins and ask for forgiveness before having the communion in Lord’s table. Paul says to 1 Corinthians 11:27 “So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.” We need to careful while taking the communion.

So when you are ready send out your first communion invitation so you can share such an important moment with your loved ones and they can support you along the path to God.
