Mary of Bethany, Mary Magdalene, and the Repentant Anointer – The Hallelujah House

Mary of Bethany, Mary Magdalene, and the Repentant Anointer

An Addition to this Week’s Podcast:

Today, there is a bonus podcast up. I wanted to take a closer look at the three women discussed in our last Abiding study: Mary of Magdala, Mary of Bethany, and the Repentant Anointer.

So come on by the House where the doors are open to see who these women are and where their stories take place on the timeline of Jesus ministry.

Please note: One correction I need to make is the woman with the Alabaster box of oil (repentant anointer) took place in Galilea not Judea. Simon the Pharisee’s house was in Galilea. That was a slip up on my part. Bethany is in Judea.

Today’s Passages:

The Repentant Anointer: Luke 7:36-50

Mary of Bethany: John 12:1-8

Mary Magdalene:  Luke 8:1-3

Come on In! Rudy’s Waiting for you.

    The Mall or the Manger?

Much has changed since the God of the universe decorated the night sky with the star of Bethlehem and directed the choir of angels in a chorus announcing the birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. But the commercialism doesn’t have to rule in our hearts and homes. This year let’s focus on the Christ Child and remember the true meaning of the holiday season. As we turn our eyes to the Babe in the manger, we will not view Christmas as a dreaded obligation or a major retail event. It will be a time of joyous celebration, honoring the One Who came to give us eternal life and worshipping our Heavenly Father.
