No Competition in God’s Kingdom

Dear you, feeling like you’re at the backseat in your Christian race, this is for you.
Do you feel like people are reaching heights in their walk with God and you’re not?
Do you feel like you’re not comfortable where you are, and you dislike the pace at which you’re running.
First, in my Father’s Kingdom, there is no competition, just roles. If you understand this, you won’t be feeling left out or unimportant when you compare your role in God’s Kingdom with that of your friends or colleagues.
This is just like being shareholders in a company, not just any company, but your Father’s company.

We should be happy and grateful to God if anyone is doing what we can’t, because we can’t do everything at once. I’ve never seen the ear walking, or the nose talking. No, the ears are for hearing and the nose is for smelling. Please, find your role and be actively involved in working well in that role. Stop looking over your shoulders, checking out the next person and wishing you were the one preaching to that hot lady (hot, really?) Or the one who published that really amazing article that made people run to God with tears. You should be happy and saying,
‘Hey, lady, I see your active participation in our Father’s Kingdom. Glad to know you’re buying shares.’
Not everyone are teachers, pastors, writers, Spoken Word artists or singers. Just like Paul said, “If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? (I Cor. 12:17-18)
God has everyone right where he wants them.
We need each other, we need a whole, complete body.

Not everyone has that role where he or she is in the spotlight or center stage. The role of some persons are behind closed doors, with closed eyes, on their knees, interceding for people. We don’t get people with cameras over there, or the audience clapping for such person, no. It’s those roles or body parts that seems weak or unimportant to us, that are actually very important and indispensable. There are the ones we can’t live without. You can live without your eyes, but you can’t live without your stomach. (1 Cor. 12:22)

We really do need our fellow believers, just the way we need different parts of our bodies. Yes, the devil may try to trick us into believing that we can and should stand alone, using the sometimes insecurity and imperfections of fellow believers as an excuse. Yes, none of us are perfect. Why do you think Paul kept hitting on forgiving and bearing each other in his letters? See? It didn’t start today. God is helping us to love people and God is changing people who wants to be changed. The devil knows how powerful we are when we unite as one, without hatred or division. He knows how hard it is to break in when we’re together, so get ready for many more excuses that the devil would bring your way. He’ll say you don’t have to go to church, you can pray at home. He’ll say you don’t need a relationship with people in the church, some of them are gossips. Don’t let the devil steal from you.
1Cor.12.25 – 26 “So that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.”
Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. (Heb. 10:24-25)

We all drink from the same Spirit. It’s the same Spirit that gives us life and energy to work efficiently at our roles. The head of this body is Christ.

If you’ve left your role stagnant because you feel it’s not as important as it should be, please repent and go back to work in your Father’s Kingdom.
Read 1 Cor. 12, use a version of the Bible you could understand, and ask God to help you work well in your field.
