OVERSHADOWED FOR A PURPOSE

Memorise: “While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud” (Luke 9:34)

Read: Luke 9:28-36

“While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud” (Luke 9:34).

If a hen lays eggs and does not overshadow them, the eggs may never become a chicken. Inside every egg is a chicken that can either become a cock or hen. Except the hen overshadows the eggs, the chicks in them will die inside the egg shell.

Until God overshadows you, your potentials and possibilities remain buried. Except God broods over you, you may not be able to fulfil your purpose on earth. When the cloud overshadowed an ordinary fisherman, he became so outstanding that he remains a subject of discourse 2000 years after his death.

When God overshadows you, the world will marvel at your end. Those who have been mocking at you will marvel. The Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and she conceived without meeting a man. If you can walk so closely with the Holy Spirit to the extent that He overshadows you, you too will conceive.

You can conceive ideas leading to your breakthrough in secular business, ministry, academics, etc. You can conceive and deliver divinely guided decisions.

Out of the cloud came a voice. It is not everybody that hears the voice of God. It takes spiritual experience using the ears of your spirit man to hear His voice. According to Psalm 62:11, God is not a talkative. He speaks sparingly.

Yet, when we gather at meetings, He will be speaking to me concerning several people. This is became of His special love for us. Normally, God would only speak when there is reason to do so. For instance, after He instructed Abraham to leave his father’s house and kindred in Genesis 12:1-3, Abraham took Lot with him. God never spoke to him for several years until the day Lot separated from him.

Some believers and servants of God who used to hear from God, no longer hear from Him. Has God become dumb? They stopped hearing because of disobedience or half obedience. Have you stopped hearing one on one? God is waiting for your obedience to be complete. If you have never heard from God, you will hear from now. Moses never heard from God all his years in Egypt.

Even after going on exile he kept doing things his own way. And for another 40 years he did not hear from God. But when he came apart to a solemn assembly, he saw the burning fire, and God spoke to him and set him on the path to his destiny (Exodus 3:1-15). God is ready to tell you what will put you on the path of destiny. The issue is, Are you ready to hear? Set yourself apart, worship and praise Him. Listen to what He has to say. He will speak peace to you.

Ask the Holy Spirit to brood over you as He did to the earth and cause you to birth winning ideas and blessings.
