Praise the Lord and Partake of His Divine Nature

“His divine power has granted to us all things which relate to life and godliness” and “He has granted to us precious and exceedingly great promises that through these you might become partakers of the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:3, 4).

Peter tells us in his second Epistle that through the precious and exceedingly great promises, the believers might become partakers of the divine nature (v. 4). We all need to praise the Lord that we have God’s divine nature as the gold within us. His divine nature is rich, high, excellent, and brilliant! He has also given us great promises in both the Old and New Testaments to enable us to partake of this golden nature.*

New JerusalemGod has given “all things” and “granted great promises” that we might partake. Now we cooperate. We have a great High Priest (Heb. 4:14) who has redeemed us and given us divine life. “Let us therefore come forward with boldness to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace for timely help” (4:16).

God will not force Himself on us but He strongly desires that we take action to receive all that He has made available.

In New Jerusalem we will not be passive. We all will actively enjoy the presence of God with the tree of life and river of life and we will all serve God (Rev. 22:1-5). Don’t wait for New Jerusalem; come forward to God now!
