Prayer of Elijah

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit” (James 5:17-18).

 I Kings 18:36-39

And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.”

Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The LORD, He is God! The LORD, He is God!” (NKJV)

Testimony of Pastor Paul Adefarasin, of the House on the Rock Church in Lagos, Nigeria which  has a yet to be completed  32- square metres largest purpose church air-conditioned auditorium in West Africa.

“I returned from the United Kingdom to renew my travelling papers and — to cut the story short  — in the midst of that, God made it clear to me that I was planted here in Lagos. He spoke to me in my heart to let me know that He had given me a mighty church in this city. And over those first few years; I was in Lagos, particularly, the first six months I prayed all night to birth outwardly what God had put inside me.

Then, I asked a few people from the street to join me. I also asked my fiancée, Ifeanyi, at a time, to join in that all-night; and seven of us prayed on the first night in my mother’s home in Ikeja area of Lagos; and the rest is history”

Testimony of Pastor Muthee a Kenyan who dislodged the power of witchcraft to start a successful church in Kiambu, Kenya

“Most people were afraid to go out at night. There were a few churches in Kiambu, but none of them had an attendance of over 100, and hardly any of the people were committed Christians.

God spoke to Pastor Thomas Muthee, a Kenyan native, that he wanted him to start a church in Kiambu, which at the time had a population of about 65,000. Muthee plainly heard the voice of God say these words: “I want you to plant a church in Kiambu.” Pastor Muthee was an evangelist who had done some post-graduate work in Scotland in 1988. His wife was a teacher. When God spoke to them, they decided first to spend some time praying and seeking why Kiambu was such a spiritually oppresses area. They spent six months in prayer and fasting, seeking God’s guidance. They did not go into Kiambu at any time during that six months. They were seeking to know what was the dominate spirit over Kiambu”
