Proving God's Existence: It's in a Drop of Water -

Seven11 Photography- Proving God’s existence is as simple as looking at the universe within a single drop of water.

Proving God’s existence

Past to Present

There was a time, before science needed to prove God’s existence, when a body of water was once seen as nothing more than a collection of water droplets, not knowing the universe of molecules contained in every drop. To that point, a single grain of sand was once considered the smallest thing to exist, and even then, no one knew or understood the complexity of a single grain. Looking under a microscope today, anyone can see that every grain of sand is unique and made up of countless objects inconceivable to the naked eye.

Fast forwarding to the late 1500’s and the invention of the microscope, an entirely new world opened up. The stronger the microscope, the more we discovered and entire fields of sciences began to emerge. It was not until the 19th century that the atom was discovered, the diameter of which, is 1 millionth that of a grain of sand. Then, the electron, proton and neutron emerged, thousands of billions times smaller than a single grain of sand.  It took humanity until 1964 and the development of a particle accelerator, smashing these tiny subatomic particles together, to discover quarks which are still the smallest known particle we know of today. Even now, science is theorizing even smaller units and theorize the center of a black hole could be a fraction of the size of a quark, the smallest known thing.

So what does it mean?

We then look upward, to the heavens, and have trouble contemplating the fact that the universe could be infinite. Science cannot prove it because it is too vast and complex. Each time we reach further into the stars we only find more and more beyond our reach. Researchers even tried to prove that the universe was curved which would conclude that is may not be infinite. Turns out it is almost completely flat, and therefore, potentially infinite.

God is infinite, and as humans, we cannot contemplate such a massive concept. We can walk forward with God and have faith in him who created all and knows all; however, from the vastness of space, all the way down to the smallest possible particle is beyond our comprehension. As humanity continue to rely on science to peel back the next layer, whether small or large, we discover another universe of complexity beyond human explanation. If everything from space to the building blocks of molecules could be infinite, would that not be created by someone who is also infinite?  Someone who could speak everything into existence with exquisite and unexplainable precision.

We will never stop learning and searching; however, faith is believing without seeing and we will never find the limits of God. He is the infinite creator.

Verse for Thought

"… ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities- his eternal power and divine nature. So, they have no excuse for not knowing God." Romans 1:20
