Memorise: “The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence’ (Psalms 115:17).

Read: Psalm 115:16-18

This year; the Lord will make you His jewel in Jesus name. When you are God’s jewel, you are His treasure. In Matthew 6:21, Jesus says, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” This means,

if you are God’s treasure, you will remain in God’s focus every second. His good thoughts will beam towards you every second. His heart will always be with you. May that be your portion from today. However, this comes through dedicated and faithful service. How do you serve God today?

A Pastor’s wife once told one of their workers in the children’s department six months after leaving their state: “Although we now have more workers than when you were here, yet your place is still vacant. Nobody has been able to fill it.”

Psalm 115:17 It is not the dead who praise the LORD, nor any who descend into silence.

What kind of worker are you? The moment some servants of God drop dead, a better replacement is found for them. But there are others, years after they are gone, nobody can adequately fill the vacuum. Where do you fall? There are some children of God whom God will not miss at death.

There are some other children of God like Adeboye of whom God will say, “If he goes today, who will praise and worship me like him? Let him live longer.” From today put life into your service. Add zeal too. Put your heart into it and you will bring out something praise worthy.

“The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence” (Psalm 115:17). David was one servant of God who knew how to serve God through instruments, praise, worship and thanksgiving. He knew God’s food and He never starved God. If God was to depend on many of us for food (praise and worship), He would have starved to death. But with David, the Lord could depend on Him.

If God did not know the houses of His other children, He knew that of David. That was why his household was chosen and He was singled out for kingship. Whenever the spirit of death knocked at his door; David would remind God,

“If I go now, nobody will give you your special food which I daily serve you fresh and hot.” God will say, “it is true. Who is that spirit troubling my son? Leave him alone before I consume you.” And he lived longer just to keep on serving. If you die now, will God miss anything?

The quality of your service determines whether you will be easily replaced or not.

Ask God for wisdom to enhance your service to His Kingdom.
