Memorise: “For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take” (Acts 1:20)

Read: 1 Samuel 3:19-21

When you look through the Bible, you will discover that the number two man is always better than the number one. God’s second attempt is usually better than the first. And like God, you can make it in your second attempt if you failed in the first. It is not God’s will for you to continue to fail. Have you been battling with failure? Has failure become a household name? In the Name of Jesus, from this moment your failure shall become success. Isaac was Abraham’s son. Genesis 24:35 says Abraham was great but Genesis 26:13 says Isaac was greater – very great. As great as Moses was, he failed in his primary assignment of leading Israel into the promised land; yet Joshua – the latter house did it. If you compare Eli with Samuel, you will find that the latter succeeded where the former failed (1 Sam 3:19-21). King Saul was the first king of Israel. He started well but forgot God, so he failed. God replaced him with David (1 Sam 16:13-14).

In an individual’s life, a part could be called the former house and another part the latter house. For instance, taking a look at the life of Peter, his former house was fraught with fear, inconsistency, denial of Christ and hiding. He backslid and returned to the fishing profession he left a long time ago. He could only lead few people to Christ in that state. But then came Pentecost.

he Holy Ghost came down upon him and the fire burned the weaknesses of his former house, and produced a new Peter – the latter house. All the disciples saw him and recognized him in the glory of the latter house. In Acts 2:41, he preached a sermon and won 3000 souls. Boy, was he amazed! In Acts 4:4, he preached his second sermon and 5000 more came into the Kingdom. By his third sermon in Acts 5:14, the souls that came in were innumerable. They were simply called multitudes.

Beyond soul-winning, he began to fly in the miraculous. He went from healing by contact (Acts 3:1-8) to a level where his shadow healed the sick that lined up on streets (Acts 5:15-16). Healing by contact was his former house, while healing by shadow was his latter house glory. Whatever level you are operating now is your former house glory.

Your latter house is about to manifest. Profusely thank God for your former house anointing. Ask Him to manifest your latter house glory now.

While some Christians have better replacements, a few cannot be replaced in spite of the thousands waiting to take over their assignments. Can you be replaced?
