SHOCKING! One Woman is Being Abused Every 60 Seconds Here in the USA!
By profession, I am a Bible believing Christian who co-founded a ministry in 2011, that takes born again believers through a private Biblical recovery from drugs, alcohol and a limited number of behavioral addictions. Recovery, with us, results in being fully recovered. Jesus Christ heals for life!
It wasn't until recently, that it hit me right in the face that domestic abuse can, in many instances, be a behavioral addiction. No addiction professionals, none that I can yet find, say it... the church doesn't deal with it... and help is out there, but limited due to women's fears. It is a treated, by most women, as a dark secret that they are afraid to share for the fear of being judged or isolated from their friends.
My focus has been on both Christians and non-believers; however, I'm researching both. The fact that one woman is being abused every 60 seconds here in the US is shocking to me, and should be shocking to you! My plan is to extend my coaching to abused women. Yes, I know what you're going to say. You want to tell me that men are abused too! I agree; however, my calling at this time, is to help women get through their trauma and to regain and build self-esteem.
So, this is my opening post for now. As the LORD makes time to write more, I will do my due diligence to keep you posted in the future. My goal is to get this out to as many as I can. Please pray!
