So,I’ve been crying.

Good day beautiful people

I hope that this post meets you well? It’s been a while since I’ve shared my single journey with you all, and I think it’s about time I give you a quick update. I can now confirm that I am no longer crying 😊 although I was a few weeks back, but God has been so awesome and faithful and sent people across my path to encourage and strengthen me so yeah! Btw the series on ‘How to live the best life’ is yet to come to an end so stick around for future posts!

It’s ok to be upset about being single (yes it’s ok to have the odd off day, but being in a permanent state of distress leading to severe depression is extremely unhealthy and dangerous). In the book of Judges we’re told about a group of people who wept because their friend would die a virgin! Acknowledge your feelings, don’t deny your heartache, tell God how you feel, and remind Him of your hearts desires.

Judges 11:37 ~ But first let me do this one thing: Let me go up and roam in the hills and weep with my friends for two months, because I will die a virgin.”

I want us ALL to remember that God really does care about us, He cares about the things which trouble our soul. He cares about the little things, the big things, anything that concerns a child of God concerns God, because He cares for His children.

Psalm 31:7~ “I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love, for you have seen my troubles, and you care about the anguish of my soul.”

I’ve spent a lot of time reading through comments from older singles who would remind married folk who wed in their earlier twenties of how easy it is for them to tell others to wait and do x, y and z without realising the ordeal that individuals in their 30s, 40s, 50s + go through. Some comments I read made me chuckle, but deep within I always saw some truth in the many personal life stories shared. Let’s be honest waiting for one year cannot be compared to the struggle of waiting for 10 years which is why it is NOT good to compare yourself to others. Yes a person can sympathise with another human yet not truly understand how the other person feels. My advice for us all is that we should be very careful about what we say to others, make sure our words are helpful and Holy Spirit inspired. It’s ok not to know how to encourage someone who is downcast, sometimes it’s best to keep quiet, and just be there for them and LISTEN. Another thing to consider is that although you may have the right words to say, it may not be the right time for you to share those words.

Also my encouragement to anyone going through a season of waiting is to keep on trusting God no matter the outcome. His plans for us are ALWAYS good, and I believe that the greater the trial the greater the testimony. We serve an Almighty All-powerful God, who has the power to raise the dead! Let go of that could’ve been relationship and believe that God has the power to give you a wonderful future.

Psalm 37:37 ~ Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace.”

During the time when Lazarus was sick Jesus wanted people to know that not only could He heal diseases, but He had the power to give life. To raise the dead. Lazarus being raised to life was a greater testimony. Jesus could of easily healed Lazarus of his sickness, but God wanted to showcase His power through the life of Lazarus in a spectacular way. And through Christ’s death and resurrection we can all live forever through accepting His precious gift of salvation. Death is not the end. So trust God for a glorious future even though you may feel like all hope is lost because of your difficult circumstance, God wants you to trust Him for deliverance. He wants you to believe Him for the impossible, believe that your testimony will be GREAT!

Romans 4:25 ~ He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.

Proverbs 23:18 ~ There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

It’s so easy for some women to start to question themselves when they see their MUCH younger male friends or family members enter into serious relationships, and bring their significant other to events or church gatherings. Yup that was the straw that broke the camels back for me. But this insecurity revealed my lack of trust in God’s timing. It was a wake up call for me to begin to trust God SOOOO much more, and to place Him first instead of worshipping the blessings which He gives.

I can mention another good thing that has come from the tears I shed…This write up. It’s a great privilege to be able to use this platform to help encourage others through sharing my personal life stories and struggles!

Finally I must highlight that just because someone is young does not mean that what they have to say is invalid. God can use a young married couple to speak to and uplift an older person during their season of waiting. I mean God even spoke through a donkey.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and that even during the hardship you continue to have hope in Christ the anchor of your soul.

Love from
