Ten Telltale Signs You’re A Book Nerd
You know who you are. You have strong opinions about the use of the Oxford comma. In social situations, you feel more comfortable when you have a book in your hand. Your imaginary life is rich and dynamic and full of possibility, but also sometimes histrionic and embarrassingly silly. You have emotionally-charged relationships with fictional characters you’ve met in the books you hoard on your bookshelf. Yes, you might as well admit it. You’re a book nerd.
But perhaps you aren’t sure if you truly are a book nerd, or you’re just someone who likes books. A lot. If you’re on the fence, I’ve compiled a list to help you find yourself. Here are ten telltale signs you might be a book nerd.
10 | You smell your new books when no one’s looking.
9 | You have a pile of unread books on your nightstand. Did I say pile? I meant tower.
8 | You have insanely-specific and deeply-informed opinions about tablet readers.
7 | You are a self-professed connoisseur of bookmarks.
6 | Your “Saved For Later” Amazon page has to refresh a dozen times before you hit the end of it.
5 | You prefer tea over coffee for…reasons.
4 | You’re convinced that the book is always better than the movie.
3 | That scene in Beauty and the Beast where The Beast gives Belle an entire library? You’ve had that dream.
2 | You have a very specific cozy reading spot in your home that is your happy place.
1 | Not only do you know what the word “bibliophile” means, it’s listed on your LinkedIn profile.
