The Bible is The Word of God - Enjoying the Journey

Few people want to talk about it and even fewer understand it.

Yet, all of life boils down to authority: whose authority will we live under? The unregenerate world is characterized by a spirit of rebellion. Even many believers miss the truth that life is to be lived under divine authority. Modern Christianity, defined by emotion, experiences, and extra-biblical teaching, is evidence that many have forgotten the principle of biblical authority.

Our authority is not human ideas, but divine revelation. The foundation of faith is the Word of God. Without it, we have nothing to stand upon and nothing to share, but in the Word we have all that we need! The Lord Jesus, interceding for His disciples, prayed, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17). God’s Word is true and God’s truth is powerful.

Enjoying the Journey exists to evangelize the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ, encourage pastors and local churches, and equip believers to walk with God and serve Him each day. There is no way to accomplish this mission apart from the transforming power of the Word of God. The Spirit of God works through the Word.

We unequivocally believe that the Bible is the very Word of God and that every word of the Word is divinely inspired. The Scriptures are the inerrant, infallible, completed, written revelation of God to man and, therefore, the all-sufficient, final authority for what we believe and how we are to live (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21). Truth is not new and it is not old – it is eternal.

Evangelist R.A. Torrey gave his life to reach the world with the gospel and teach the Word of God. This classic work, Ten Reasons Why I Believe the Bible is the Word of God, articulates what we believe about the sufficiency of Scripture. As you read these pages, may God both deepen your conviction in the Word and your commitment to study it and share it with others.

Ten Reasons Why I Believe the Bible is the Word of God is a classic work by Dr. R.A. Torrey. This adaption is made available free of charge. An Inspired Challenge for Wives This Father's Day - Today Can Be Different

Consider asking your husband how you can pray for him each day. (If the father of your children doesn’t live with you, for whatever reason, remember to put him on your prayer list too.) Your husband wants nothing more than to succeed, but he probably struggles with issues he’s afraid to admit, even to himself. He may feel insecure about being a dad, especially if he didn’t have the benefit of a good role model. Or maybe he feels more like an understudy because he’s “only” a stepdad.
