Curl up with a good book

Do you like books that make you laugh and cry without making you cringe? Then see below for some of my recent reads.

I’ve spent a lot of hours riding in Rigsby, my motor home. Putting on an audio book is the best way to watch the miles churn away.

My recommendations:

Very, Very Lucky

Amanda Prowse

With kids to look after, an ailing mother and a neglected husband, life is full for Emma Fountain—too full, she realises, when she wakes up in IKEA after falling asleep in one of the show beds. Only her crazy, funny best friend Roz keeps her sane. But when Roz climbs in through her bathroom window one day to deliver terrible news, Emma’s belief that she can find a way around any obstacle crumbles in the face of a problem she just can’t fix.

There is a bit of British swearing, but the story had me in tears by the end.

I give it a solid 4 stars

The Acquittal

Pat Simmons

Pat Simmons has written over forty books – and still going! This is an engaging look at Ghana and its inhabitants. The nation’s sights, sounds and traditions come alive through the author’s words. Though the hero starts out egotistical and rather self-centered, he develops nicely, especially after his acceptance of Christ.

I give this one 5 stars!

Hilltop Christmas

Kathleen D. Bailey

Who doesn’t want to keep the Christmas spirit going? I liked this romance because the characters were as flawed as I am, but trying to move forward. Each one had hidden scars but in the end, overcame the past.

This is another 5-star read. So much drama and great personal growth.

Cute children’s books

I downloaded these two children’s books to see what my publisher Elk Lake was up to. If you have little ones, I highly recommend both these books.

There are a lot of good books out there, and some not so good.
I love to find a new author to follow. Let me know some of your faves.

Thanks for reading!

Jane S. Daly is the author of two nonfiction books and five novels. You can connect with her on her website www.JaneSDaly.com

Jane is addicted to coffee, purple pens, and her husband, not necessarily in that order. A self-proclaimed introvert, she enjoys the solitude of riding shotgun in Rigsby, her 37-foot motor home. But when they pull into a new campground, her favorite thing is to make new friends and find hangouts featuring local musicians. Her fantasy involves writing lyrics for country music songs and hearing them played on the radio. In the meantime, she’ll stick to writing novels. And seeing as much of the country as possible.
