Memorise: “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Cor 15:20)

Read: 1 Corinthians 15:20-23

resurrection-of-christ“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept” (1 Cor 15:20). Jesus Christ is called Alpha because He is first in everything. He is the first to resurrect from the dead. He is first so that you can be first. If you are anything but first in your academics or secular endeavors, it could be because you have not been introduced to The First.

Do you know it is your Kingdom right to be first? Jesus became The First so that you can be first in every good thing. From today, you shall be the head. You shall move up from where you have been, and become the head – the first among your colleagues. One way to enter and occupy that reserved space in leadership, is to carefully listen and completely obey what Jesus the Head says. You cannot be disobedient to the First and expect to be first.

Also, make Him first in every area of your life. Colossians 1:18 says Jesus is Head and First so that He can have pre-eminence. Does He have control over your life? As long as He is not the Lord of your life, you cannot take a seat in the space of leadership He has reserved for you.

Genesis 1:1, says “In the beginning, God…” Whenever you are starting anything, make sure you start with Him. Start your business, home and career with Him. Let Him be the foundation of all you do. He is the best foundation you can ever find (1 Cor 3:11). Take Him as your confidant because He is a friend that is closer than your brother, spouse or parent. Share all your challenges first with Him.

Moreover, according to Matthew 6:33, seek Him first. That means making Him your life’s treasure hunt. Search for Him with all your heart. Seek Him daily. Set time apart just to seek Him. As you do so this year, He will take you up to occupy that headship space He has reserved for you.

When you occupy that position, struggling stops. With little efforts, you will be making expedited progress. It is a place of power. Everything subject to the Head will be subject to you. You will decree and He will personally supervise its manifestation. This year, let your focus be how you can occupy this position in Christ. When there, your future is guaranteed!

Never share your plan or secret with anyone until you have shared them with the First.
