The History You Think You Know, and the History That Is Real

Have you ever asked yourself this question:

What is all of this for?

You study, you work, you marry, you raise children, and then you grow old, and then you die. The sun rises as it always has, and sets as it always has. Seasons come and go, year after year. We arrive, and then we leave, and the world seems to go on without missing a beat.

Many people say: This is just life. There's no special meaning to it. Enjoy it while you can, and when it's over, it's over.

That sounds freeing — even honest. But have you ever found yourself in a quiet moment, late at night, suddenly feeling an emptiness you couldn't quite name —

Who am I, really? Where did I come from? And when I die — where will I go?

Some say: The world came into existence by chance. I came into existence by chance. There's no reason for any of it, no purpose — just make the most of each day.

But look at this world — the movement of the stars, the turning of the seasons, the complexity of life, the architecture of DNA. Can all of this really be an accident?

Every painting points to a painter. This intricate, ordered world points to a Creator. And you — you are his masterpiece, formed by his hands, brought into this world not by accident, but with intention and purpose.

Some say: When you die, that's it. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, and nothing more.

But the ancient scriptures say something different: The dust returns to the earth, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

You are not just a body. You have a soul. The body decays, but the soul does not simply disappear. Death is not the end — it is the beginning of another journey. And where that journey leads depends on the choices you make today.

Some say: Why worry about what comes after? What matters is right now — success, comfort, pleasure. Grab what you can while you can.

But the scriptures describe a scene that is impossible to ignore:

"I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne. And books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books."

No one escapes that day. Rich or poor, powerful or forgotten, believer or skeptic — every person will stand there.

So why hasn't that day come yet?

Maybe that's your question. If judgment is real, why does the world keep spinning? Why do the wicked seem to go unpunished? Why does everything seem so... unchanged?

The scriptures offer a surprising answer:

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

He is waiting for you.

Not because He has forgotten. Not because He is powerless. But because He does not want you to be lost. Every day that passes is a gift — an open door, a chance to turn back, a moment of grace extended toward you.

History is not an endless cycle going nowhere. It has a destination.

And before that destination arrives, He is reaching out his hand.

Will you take it?
