Isaiah 5 verse 13
13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst
- God lamented that His children, the people of Israel have been taking captive by the enemy
- God lamented that the nation of Israel, the land of promise has been taken over by Babylon
- God lamented that the enemies are rejoicing because they are oppressing the people of God
- Just as Israel was taken captive, there are so many children of God that have been taken captive by the enemy
- Just as God lamented that Israel was taken captive, Heaven is still lamenting that many children of God have also been taken captive.
- Why was Israel taken captive? The Bible says they lack knowledge.
- The lack knowledge that sins opens the door for the devil
- The lack knowledge that idolatry provokes the jealousy and anger of God
- They lack knowledge that if they break the covenant to obey God, God will no longer be their God
- They lack knowledge that it is only by fearing and obeying God that they can live in peace, prosperity, and happiness
- Holy Ghost increase your knowledge, may you not fall into sin that will make the enemy to hold you captive in Jesus name
