The power in prayer…Why you must pray..Jesus and Prayer

Text: LUKE 4:14-30, LUKE 5:5-17

INTRODUCTION:- Jesus always made time for prayers. Do we? How much time do we spread each day communing with our Father in Heaven. Are we living disciplined lives or do we often give so much time to our father in Heaven. Are we living disciplined lives or do we often gives much time to our friends /TV/video films/ unedifying magazine that we cannot fine time to be with God in prayer?

Going to bed early is the secret to winning the battle of getting out the bed early for prayers a disciplined life is needful for a life of prayers.

Jesus prayed in the hour of acclamation. He did not forget God who anointed Him with the Holy Ghost and power.

Luke 4:14; 5:15-17, shows an aspect of popularity in the early part of the ministry of Jesus as He went about teaching, preaching, healing etc,. Increasing popularity for the servant of God inevitably leads to increase activity. But Jesus showed us an example of …. Withdrawing ……. And praying.

Let us do the same.

QUESTIONS
1. What did Jesus do with power of the Holy Spirit which was upon His life? Luke4:14-15, 5:17. What does God expect of us/ (God expect us to do as he did, by teaching, evangelism.
2. What usually happen to man ‘s relationship with God as He prosper if he does not discipline himself.
3. Is the baptism of the Holy Spirit a substitute for a life of prayers and communication with God? Luke 5:16
4. How did Jesus face the time of intense activity and sustain it through? Luke 5:15-16
5. What was the reaction of some people to Jesus Christ (which also applies to us to day) when God exalted Him? Did the detractors ‘ plans success? Luke 4:28-30.
6. What is the important of finding time to withdraw yourself from others activities and pray? Luke5:17.

MEMORY VERSE:- LUKE 5:15: BUT SO MUCH THE MORE WENT THERE A FAME ANROAD OF HIM AND GREAT MULTITUDES CAME TOGETHER TO HEAR, AND TO BE HEALED BY HIM OF THEIR INFIRMITIESS
