The Wild Goose Fest, Abortion, and Progressive Christianity: With Chelsen Vicari—The Alisa Childers Podcast #36

Wow, what a fantastic podcast. I’m so thankful to both of you for your work. I’ve stayed away from this site for a while as I know I can be a bit too fiery sometimes. But I really appreciated what both of you said about what a lonely fight this can be. I’ve really struggled to get my book on the subject off the ground and to get people to listen. Most within my camp, the Reformed camp, think I was too ecumenical and should have focused more on presenting a refutation from a more explicitly Reformed perspective. Or they think the book should have been more scholarly and not so colloquial. Those outside my camp think I was a bit too forceful. And those are just the ones who read it and were positive about the book. Most just genuinely don’t seem to care. Most seem to think this is still just a fringe movement with little impact.

I am often asked to speak or write on issues like general theology, apologetics, church history, politics, science and the faith, and I always try to shamelessly plug in this issue somehow and most are willing to listen in that context, but any time I try to really push this issue on its own, the church just always seems so apathetic about it right now and frankly I just don’t get it. And I don’t know how to change it and PC seems to get worse and worse and more and more popular as Chelsen makes clear in this interview. I think this issue needs to be proclaimed from the rooftops of true churches across our land and yet it seems relegated for the most part to a few blogs……….
