Christian colleges aim to instill in their students an appreciation for the world God made, an understanding of how their faith impacts every aspect of their education, and how to find fulfillment by following God’s Will.

Although Washington, D.C., is best recognized as the U.S. president’s official residence, it is also home to many Christian colleges, all of which adhere to the Catholic faith. The same is true with the educational institutions in Maryland and Virginia.

Christian Colleges That Cater to All Faiths

According to The Classroom, each district’s Christian colleges and universities welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds. The churches in the area cater to Christians of all denominations.

If you want to attend any of these DMV-area colleges, here are a few things you need to know: 

Wesley Theological Seminary

Wesley Theological Seminary’s goals include advancing theological knowledge, modeling a prophetic voice in the public square, and preparing individuals for Christian ministry and leadership.

The Catholic University of America

The Catholic University of America stands apart even among other universities in the United States. With the blessing of Pope Leo XIII, the Catholic bishops of the United States established this institution as the country’s official Catholic university.

For over 130 years, they have fulfilled their commitment to seek out and share the truth through outstanding academic programs and groundbreaking research.

Recommendation: Catholic University’s prominence on the national stage is reflected in its high position in numerous rankings and other honors and its beautiful, environmentally responsible campus.

Patrick Henry College

Patrick Henry College offers a broad-based bachelor’s education that emphasizes content, excellence, knowledge, and the use of God’s whole range of abilities in light of the inerrant Bible.

According to its website, the college offers exceptional baccalaureate-level higher education with a biblical worldview through a classical liberal arts curriculum and apprenticeship training.

Recommendation: Patrick Henry College might be the perfect school for you if you are a conservative Christian. The students and faculty at Patrick Henry College hold that God is the ultimate authority on all matters of faith, ethics, philosophy, and science. This is why they make it a priority to integrate God’s truth into all of their teachings.

Mount St. Mary’s University

Mount St. Mary’s University has prepared students to serve God and their communities with integrity and moral authority since 1808. Their shared ideals and unwavering commitment to their students’ achievement motivate their community.

Recommendation: The university provides an excellent education, extending and enriching students with service and experience learning. More than 80 undergraduate majors, minors, specializations, and special programs are available, all rooted in the Catholic liberal arts tradition.

Georgetown University

Georgetown University is the oldest Catholic and Jesuit university in the United States, founded in the same decade as the Constitution. It is a progressive and inclusive community that values social justice, curiosity, and the unique contributions of all members of society.

The culture at this university is intellectually stimulating, spiritually enlightening, open to new ideas, and dedicated to improving the world for all students.

Washington Adventist University
