Truth is like Concrete

And Virtual Reality isn’t…Reality.

Truth does not depend upon you to believe it. – C.D. Hulen

Truth is like concrete that has hardened. It can’t be changed into anything else. You can cover concrete up with wood paneling or put carpet over it, but underneath? It’s still concrete.

Truth is like that.

False Beliefs

It matters whether we personally know the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the One who Jesus spoke about. Unfortunately, people ignore the clear record of Christ’s teachings. Instead, they create other gods in their own image. Little gods who always affirm the rightness of their choices, no matter how sinful or damaging.

But one day, each of us will stand before the judgement seat of Christ.

At that moment, all our idols will crumble into dust. Any lies we embraced about who God is?? They’ll go poof, like soap bubbles breaking.

It matters what we believe.

A New Resolve

Satan’s deceptions and lies have exploded in the last few years, and even believers are being deceived, The damage to our unity and fellowship is horrible.

I myself am wise enough to know I could be deceived as well. We have a very clever adversary. Fortunately the Holy Spirit dwells in each believer.

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13 NIV)

My Spiritual Point

For the last few years I’ve prayed this prayer.

Holy Spirit help me to be a woman of truth.

Feel free to join me.in praying that prayer. We really need it.

Do You Want to Get Well?

Five-year-old Brooke was sitting in the backseat of the minivan while her mom and I ran errands. “Mommy,” she asked, “Is it worse to pick a scab or pick a mosquito bite?” “You shouldn’t pick either one,” her mom replied. I glanced back at Brooke as she tried to wipe away the bloody evidence that she had done both. Read more...
