Unlimited: Not One of God’s Promises to You Will Be Left Unfulfilled

Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true (Joshua 21:45, NLT.)

What do you believe about the promises of God? Do you believe that some of them are for you and some aren’t? That he keeps some of them and not others? Do you fear that in some way you will be disappointed? Do you suspect that he’ll somehow leave you half-way through the journey?

We haven’t yet understood the depths of the goodness of God.

Think about this: God cannot partially keep his word. He is not a liar:

God is not a man, that he should lie (Numbers 23:19, NIV).

Each one of God’s promises will be fulfilled.

Furthermore, he does not change when he has promised something to his children. God,

does not change like shifting shadows (James 1:17, NIV).

Where are all the promises of God fulfilled? In the Kingdom of God. When are they fulfilled? Now. Why are they fulfilled? Because Christ has won the victory and all power is in his hand. The rock-solid, eternal guarantee that God keeps his Word are the scars in the hands of the One lives forever.

We live in the kingdom now if we have believed in the name of Jesus Christ. This is a kingdom that is yet to be fully realised as the kingdom of glory. So we rejoice in the promises. Not one of them will fail. – Eliezer Gonzalez

Reflection: Write down your favourite promises from God. Make a time to go somewhere in the tranquillity of nature. There, pray through each of those promises, thanking God that each of them will be fulfilled in full.

Do You Want to Get Well?

Five-year-old Brooke was sitting in the backseat of the minivan while her mom and I ran errands. “Mommy,” she asked, “Is it worse to pick a scab or pick a mosquito bite?” “You shouldn’t pick either one,” her mom replied. I glanced back at Brooke as she tried to wipe away the bloody evidence that she had done both. Read more...
