We are in Christ to Live Christ

We enter into the Triune God by His invitation and by our cooperation with His doing. Once we are in Him, He imparts His life and nature into us to form our new constitution. This is the renewing accomplished by the Spirit; our old, natural, fallen person is gradually replaced by His newness and pureness. This brings us onward to New Jerusalem.

By believing into Christ, we are in Him. Now we need to abide in Him with the result that He abides in us (John 15:4-5). To abide in Him is to have our living, our actions in Him. This desire and this awareness will save us from negative actions. An example is in the following excerpt:

Whenever you begin to gossip and you realize that you are in God, this realization will stop you from gossiping. Do not “jump out” of God. To gossip is to jump out of God. We should not take a leave of absence from our dwelling place in God. We may feel that we could gossip a little bit and then come back into God. Many times, however, after we gossip, it is hard for us to get back into God. We have to make a strong confession and let the blood wash us. Then our conscience would be cleansed to allow us to be in God experientially.*

To be cleansed and to experience God is to be in the present reality of New Jerusalem.
