As the title of this article states, our subject deals with lies told at church. But first, some of the backstory; and for that we go all the way back to the book of Genesis. There we learn that the Lover and the Liar were both present during man’s first days...
I love supporting small organizations that are actively engaged in their field, allowing donors to witness tangible results. A friend of mine runs a ministry where 100% of donations are channeled directly to the small organizations they collaborate with globally. Seeing the photos illustrating how the funds are utilized makes us feel like we are making a direct impact. I have a few other friends with similar ministries where you can see the results of your donations. They are here and here. But
Your family is not a threat to your ministry. Your family is your ministry.
As I reflected on this dream the following day, I heard "RECKLESS DRIVER!"
One of the delights from my time in seminary was studying important figures from church history. I especially enjoyed studying men who impacted worship reforms, including Hezekiah, Nehemiah, Paul, Augustine, Luther, Calvin, the Puritans, Edwards, and eventually, Asahel Nettleton. Although Nettleton’s name may not ring a bell like the rest, Nettleton’s preaching had a tremendous influence on the Second Great Awakening. I’ve learned there are some common struggles most young pastors face. If they are unaware of them, they may think no one understands.
“And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners”” (Mark 2:17). In Mark 2, Jesus hea…
Jesus entered Jerusalem, where he spent his final week teaching in the courts of the temple. But first there’s something he had to do something. The Gospel of John records that the first public act of Jesus’ ministry was his cleansing of the temple at Passover. The Gospel of Mark tells us that Jesus ended his ministry in the same way. After having ridden into Jerusalem on a colt the previous day, Jesus cleansed the temple courts and it was exactly what the Jewish people would have expected the Messiah to do. They considered that the temple was defiled and that when the Messiah came, one of the key things that he would do would be to cleanse and restore the temple. Jesus did this as a very clear sign of his absolute authority as the Messiah whom they had been expecting.
“This is what pertains to the Levites: From twenty-five years old and above one may enter to perform service in the work of the tabernacle of meeting, and at the age of fifty years they must cease performing this work, and shall work no more.” (Numbers 8:24-25 NKJV)
The youth ministry in Nigeria is growing on a daily basis. The emerging youth ministries in Nigeria are doing great exploits in God’s Vineyard raising young ones who will do exploits in the body of Christ and on the earth. If you want to know: What is the mind of God concerning the youth ministry?, […]
(A post from Emmanuel Baptist Church.) There is so much good ministry that women can and should be doing in our churches; we don’t help them at all by giving them an unbiblical and unnecessary job title.
