What If Your Worst Mess Isn’t What God Sees First? (Luke 15:20)

The story of the prodigal son reminds us of one life-changing truth:
God’s love reaches us before our shame can stop us.
When the son returned home, he carried the smell of failure with him — the scent of the pigpen, broken choices, regret, and wasted years.
To everyone else, that smell represented his mistakes.
But to the father, it was simply his son coming home.
Before hearing his apology, before seeing his condition, before noticing the mess, the father ran to embrace him.
That is the heart of God.
So many people stay distant from God because they think they need to “clean themselves up” first.
But grace doesn’t wait for perfection.
Grace runs to meet repentance.
If you feel too broken, too ashamed, or too far gone, remember this:
The Father sees you before He sees your mess.
“While he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him...”
