WHAT PRAYER CAN CHANGE

Memorise: “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 18:19)

Read: Mark 4:35-41

matthgew-18Jesus encounter with Heaven in the Garden called Gethsemane reveals the immutability of God. He cannot be changed by our prayers since He maintains His essence eternally. If prayer cannot change God, why pray? If prayer cannot change God, it can change people. For instance, on Mount Carmel in 1 Kings 18:36-39, the same people who had equated the Almighty God with idols suddenly began to scream: “The Lord is God, the Lord is God” after prayer.

If people are undecided on who the true God to be worshipped is, it is because we believers have not prayed to the point of effecting a change. Many believers were prayed into the Kingdom. I am one of them. Are your loved ones, relatives and friends still living in sin? It is an evidence that you have not prayed enough for them. Back up your evangelism with serious intercession as you stand on scriptures that promise salvation for the lost. Many evangelistic outreaches and efforts are lost to prayerlessness.

With prayer, you can change the decisions of people on issues. Those who were opposed to you can become affectionately disposed to you if you can pay the price on your knees. Your prayer closet is a strong control room. Use it regularly from today or you will be held accountable for the changes you could have made which you failed to make.

Although prayer cannot change God, it can however change situations and circumstances for good. Every challenge, situation or circumstance that comes your way is waiting for the right prayer heat to change it. Through prayer, you rename problems. Whatever does not make you happy can suddenly be changed to deliver your greatest joy, if exposed to the appropriate change agent – effective and fervent prayer.

In 1 Samuel 16:11-13, a shepherd boy changed his job and became a most famous king through prayer. What is that unpleasant situation before you now? Confront it with your prayer fire and see it change before you. When the wind and waves arose against Jesus and His disciples in Mark 4:35-41, He said a prayer of decree and the tempest ceased. What is that contrary wind blowing against your family or business? Take it up in prayer and it shall cease.

Agree with your prayer partner over a certain matter you want to come to pass and pray about.
