When Life Feels Too Hard: 5 Powerful Truths God Wants You to Remember.
Not long ago, during a visit to West Palm Beach, God surprised me in the most unexpected way. The couple who hosted me quickly became close friends. As we chatted over coffee one morning, I learned a quirky and beautiful truth about their marriage.
“My husband’s closet is meticulously organized,” my friend shared with a smile. “Each hanger is evenly spaced, and everything is in its exact place.”
I laughed and asked, “And how about yours?”
She admitted that hers looked a little different. Not quite as orderly — and that was okay. Because in relationships, each person brings their own habits, methods, and personality. More importantly, each has a distinct role to play. It’s the same in our relationship with God. He has His role, and we have ours.
Struggles Are Real—But So Is God's Strength.
I confess, I'm still learning that lesson. As my family walks through another dark valley, it’s easy to wonder where God is in it all. But again and again, He reminds me: You don’t have to carry it alone. I have My role—and I’m not letting go.
We may face struggles, heartbreak, and hardship. That’s part of life on this side of heaven. But God’s role is different. While we endure the storm, He anchors our hearts. While we cry, He prepares the victory. While we break, He brings the healing.
Here are 5 powerful truths I’m holding onto—and maybe you need them, too:
- What You’re Facing Is Temporary
“Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.’” (Exodus 14:13–14)
Your hardship won’t last forever. God is fighting for you—even when you can’t see it. All He asks? Be still. Trust Him. Watch Him work.
- His Favor Surrounds You
“Surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” (Psalm 5:12)
Even in uncertainty, you are wrapped in divine favor. You may not always feel it, but His grace is enough for every moment, every challenge, and every battle.
- His Refuge Is Always Available
“But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.” (Psalm 5:11)
You are not exposed or forgotten. You are covered — protected by the One who never sleeps. In Him, there’s safety, peace, and even joy.
- Your Battle Has No Power Over You
“No weapon forged against you will prevail…” (Isaiah 54:17)
God sees the mental attacks, the anxiety, the lies. And He reminds you: they will not win. His truth overrules every threat, and His promise is your shield.
- He Is Holding You Up
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
You are not alone. You don’t have to be strong enough. When you feel like you’re falling apart, God will hold you, firm and steady.
One Last Question…
What battle are you facing today? And more importantly — are you giving God space to fight it for you?
When we remember these truths, everything changes. The storm doesn’t always stop, but we start to feel peace in the middle of it. The pain doesn’t always disappear, but it no longer defines us.
Let’s Pray
Father, I commit to surrender all to You, for I trust in the role you play — of control, total covering, and protection. I shall let You carry what I can’t, and I will allow my soul to breathe again.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
What will your days look like when you surrender all to Him?
