Read: Romans 11:17-24

Our God is called Wonderful (Isaiah 9:6). He is loaded with awe-causing events – both good and bad and distributes these to people, depending on whether they are friends or foes. He revealed Himself to the Israelites and the Egyptians as the Wonderful, only that each saw His wonders from two different ends.

Another person who knew Jesus as the Wonderful was Peter. In Luke 5:1-11, after exhausting all effort without catching a single fish, Peter encountered Jesus. From the same lake where he could not catch a fish, with the revelation of the Wonderful, Peter’s catch sank two ships. When the Wonderful is involved in your case, where you could not get anything from will be the same place, idea, business, profession or family you will obtain a harvest beyond comprehension.

Peter was so shocked, awe-stricken and dumb-founded at this surprise pack from the Wonderful that he became confused on how to respond. This season, the Lord will release a positive surprise package into your hands that will cause you to open your mouth in surprise in the Name of Jesus Christ.

“Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off” (Rom 11:22). God’s goodness is released from His positive wonder packs, while His judgement come from the negative wonder packs. In today’s reading, we are told of the dealings of the Wonderful with both Jews and Gentiles. Initially, God chose to introduce Himself to the Israelites.

He specially chose them as His children and fought against all their enemies. Even when Jesus came, He said He was sent to the lost house of Israel (Matthew 15:24). Also in Acts 1:8, priority was given to Israel. These were all parts of the pleasant surprises from the Wonderful. But when they continued to grieve His Spirit, He cut them off and started dealing with the Gentiles. That was His severity – a negative surprise as far as the Jews were concerned.

Are you a believer? You qualify for pleasant surprise packs from the Wonderful. But if you do not sustain your righteous standing and daily make Him happy, He may show you another aspect of His surprises – judgement. That shall not be your portion in Jesus’ Name. You are the one to determine which surprise package will come to you by your works, thoughts and desires.

Lord, as you visit me with good surprise packs, visit every oppressor of my destiny with negative surprises.
