Why Your Man MUST Fear God. - Impacting Righteously
A man who does not fear God will not do right and cannot truly live with godly purpose. Best believe. “By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.” Proverbs 16: 6.
By the fear of the Lord men depart from evil. A man who does not fear God can be fully aware of the God given call on him to live a righteous life, and he feels the pressure, but instead of being authentic before God, he may learn to simply be an actor before men, because he fears men instead of God.
The man who doesn’t fear God must keep up appearances before men.
He loves the praises of men above the praise of God. There are even people who won’t confess Jesus Christ for this reason. The Bible makes reference to such people in John 12: 42-43:
“Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.”
Beware of the numerous actors out there!This problem is quite common. I believe it is one of the main reasons some women fall into deception and are tricked into marrying men that are not who they seem to be. They marry the role the man plays before marriage.
These men do not fear God, but keep up appearances before men, sometimes, preying on women at the same time. At other times, they are posing in different positions and titles to gain admiration and praise of the people.
Specifically, women who are Christians sometimes fall into the deception of marrying a religious impostor. This happens when he puts on a religious front for the people. This counterfeit can seem like the real thing. The truth is, God sees and knows a man or a woman for who he or she really is.
Discernment and prayer are needed, in order to make safe decisions.
God is good, and often alerts a woman by giving her a knowing in her spirit; a sense of discerment that something is wrong. This is where it would be highly beneficial for a woman to take heed to such alerts. She should not get caught up in surface appearances. She should not be led by her feelings, loneliness, or fantasy about love. Instead, she should pray and seek God’s guidance.
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Romans 8: 14- 15.
The fear of God causes one to reverence God, and desire to please Him. The fear of man cancels out the fear of God. The fear of man and fear of God do not exist together. Fear of men seems to override a lesser fear of God.
The fear of man causes a man to be in performance mode, not caring enough about having godly character, but caring about how he is perceived by people. For example, a man who has the fear of man may live in a dishonorable way in private. He may not be concerned about having to answer to God for it, not concerned that God is all-knowing, and sees everything.
A man who fears man, instead of fearing God is worried about people finding out when he has doing wrong. This is also true of a woman who does not fear God, but fears man.
When and if a man is exposed before people, he may not be able to tolerate the thought that people will think less of him than they did before they knew his secrets. His concerns revolve around hoping people think highly of him, instead of being most concerned about God’s approval.
The man who fears man instead of God, shows that he prefers man’s favor. When he does something wrong, he may not mind at all, except for the fact that he may be caught by people. It does not seem to bother him to do wrong in the sight of God, and to do wrong against others.
What bothers him is if he is found out by people. Why is this? Well, if he is found out, it may alter people’s opinion of him. He may lose the respect of other people. This seems to be what bothers him the most! A man like this is not primarily concerned about his behavior. He is concerned about how he is perceived by people.
The man who fears men, instead of God may not hesitate to cheat on his wife. He could do other harmful things, and be satisfied with covering it up. He will not live according to godly purpose.
It is human nature to be sinful.
“Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” Psalms 51 :3.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God…” Romans 3: 23.
See why it is so dangerous for a Christian woman to marry a man who does not fear God? When we know God and have a reverential fear of Him, we will aim to please Him and obey Him out of love.
The person who is lacking the fear of God is not able to depart from their evil. They are able to somewhat effectively keep their evil hidden from other people. This is very important to be aware of as it pertains to a woman’s relationship with a man.
It is common that some are stricken with affliction of the fear of man. Remember, if the man does not fear God, he is not going to do right. Lawlessness will branch out into various areas of his life, and he will be prone to lawlessness. This applies to women also.
The person that does not fear God is concerned about keeping up appearances for and getting the respect of people. Society has encouraged promiscuity, womanizing, and for a man to measure his value by his material possessions.
For a man who lacks the fear of God, it is likely that his priority will be to get the admiration and praise of people by his public reputation, material possessions, and accomplishents. Any popularity with women will most likely also give him false affirmation.
Only the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, the fear of God, and true love will keep a man faithful to his wife. Otherwise, he can pretend that he’s being faithful, and do things behind her back without a worry or care, when he doesn’t fear God.
Some are arrogant, feel entitled, and may become violent or extra problematic if they are exposed before people. It is just not worth it to be involved with this kind of man. It is very important for the God-fearing woman to marry only in the Lord, to a man who truly fears God. Otherwise, it will not work out well.
