You will succeed in God's time
Ecclesiastes 3:1:
"There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens."
Romans 8:28:
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
In a race, the first one to reach the finish line wins. Similarly, in life, you may feel like a runner.
You might feel the urgency, the need to outpace others and secure that top spot. The desire for success drives you, propelling you forward in the relentless pursuit of your goals.
However, life is not always a straightforward sprint. There are hurdles, unexpected turns, and moments when the finish line seems elusive. It is during these times that frustration and anxiety may settle in, casting shadows on your path. You are left questioning your progress, wondering why the victory you are striving for remains just out of reach.
This feeling of being behind, of struggling to overtake the competition, can seep into various aspects of your life.
In relationships, the pressure to measure up to societal expectations or surpass others may strain connections. At work, the relentless pursuit of success can lead to burnout and a sense of inadequacy.
Society often sets arbitrary deadlines, making you feel like there is a ticking clock for everything. Take marriage, for instance. From a young age, you are led to believe that tying the knot should happen as soon as legally possible. If you do not and you reach your 30s or 40s might label you as unattractive or, in old terms, an old maid. Those who manage to wed early receive praise, while those who have not are often subjected to mockery, as if they failed in the race to married life.
Similarly, society dictates that by your late 20s, you should have it all – a stable job, a house, a car, and the ability to jet off to international destinations. The pressure intensifies as you approach the final years of your 20s as if there is a predetermined checklist that must be completed.
These societal timelines often overlook the diverse paths people take.
It dismisses individual journeys and unique circumstances. The reality is, that life unfolds at its own pace, and success is not confined to a one-size-fits-all timeframe. As you navigate the pressures of societal expectations, remember that your journey is valid, and success, in its various forms, can be achieved in its own time.
Moreover, there is no need for you to rush.
Take a cue from a character in the Bible: Joseph. His journey, marked by challenges and setbacks, unfolded gradually. From a pit to a position of power, Joseph's story teaches us the value of patience and resilience. Success, as demonstrated in Joseph's life, is not solely about reaching the finish line quickly; it is about enduring the journey with faith.
Similarly, your path may twist and turn, and success may not align with society's expectations. However, trust in God's timing. Joseph's story reminds us that success will come in God's time, not necessarily according to our own timetable. Embrace the process, stand firm, and believe that your journey is intricately woven into a story unfolding precisely as ordained.
