Your Creativity's Cry

CREATE!

A voice says, “Cry out.” And I said, “What shall I cry?” ~Isaiah 40:6, New International Version

Have you ever asked God what you should do with the gifts, talents, or ideas he has given you?

I ask Him all the time.

Are You a Seeker? Life, mistakes, and missteps have taught me to be a seeker.

At first, I thought this blog would be for the seekers, to encourage those who harass Heaven about how to make things work. But we all have had seasons where we thought we knew what we were doing without divine intervention.

I know I have.

So, this blog is for us. All of us. All the creative minds who sometimes struggle to admit we do not know everything.

And why is that Lord?

Why would you grace us with gifts but no instructions?

(Sounds horrible, but I know I am not the first one to ask THAT question.)

So, let's do this right and dispel this vicious rumor:

Giftedness does not come with full disclosure, but it does come with the Source.

Next time you whisper to yourself, "How am I supposed to do pull this off?", stop in your tracks and go to the Source.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ~Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

And I am not just talking about wanting the "how to" of a thing. I am talking about knowing it. Knowing the who, what, when, where, and even perhaps the why if God so desires to share it. Knowing your gift (whatever it is) and its' capacity to bring about change at this level exposes you to the deep things of God that only come to those vulnerable enough to seek Him out for answers.

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. ~Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV

Become a True Creative

To be true creative is know you don't know it all. To be a true creative is to immerse yourself in interaction with the Creator.

Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

~Isaiah 40:27-28 NIV

Only your Creator can teach you how to create. The only question now is how bad you want the vision the Creator gave you.

The world will tell you there is another way, but trying to walk this walk any other way than with Christ will only result in mistakes and missteps.

Want it to work?

Then, work it.

We cry out to God about everything else (hopefully).

Cry out about your creativity.

Harass Heaven about everything it takes (the who, what, when, where, and how) to make it work.

What you do not ask, you will never know.
