Romans 10:10 is not Synonymous Parallelism in Hebrew LiteratureIn my previous article, I established early Christians writings on Romans 10 and showed it was not viewed as Synonymous Parallelism (some even viewed confession as a mandatory step), in this article I will be going over why Romans 10:10 is not...
Robert Breaker built his unbroken chain on AI fake quotes that taught mental assent alone, which contradicts Dr. Peter S. Ruckman. Dr. Peter S. Ruckman built his unbroken chain (for the Bible) on Bible believers who taught two conditions for salvation: belief plus confession.Robert Breaker made an entire book that...
A widely repeated claim holds that John Chrysostom denied justification by faith alone. The evidence usually offered is a single sentence from his thirty-first homily on the Gospel of John: that not even from the promise of eternal life to the one who believes do we assert that faith alone...
Romans 10:9-10 sets out what appear to be two distinct conditions for salvation: believing with the heart and confessing with the mouth. Commentators have not agreed on what the second condition requires. Ambrosiaster read the confession of Romans 10 as a public act, a profession made before other people. This...
Jerome, however, was right that they do not have the same style.Jerome wrote of Diodorus of Tarsus and his teacher, Eusebius of Emesa, in his De Viris Illustribus (Latin for On Illustrious Men)."91. Eusebius of Emesa Eusebius of Emesa, who had fine rhetorical talent, composed innumerable works suited to win...
Thank you to Brother Don Nesbitt his youtube handle is @w46try7. the Lord's bloodhound. He is one of the reasons, this article exists. If you look at my profile, you will see I wrote a study of Diodorus of Tarsus's soteriology, and you will see in it, I made the argument...
I’d like to thank the Lord’s bloodhound, Brother Don Nesbitt (his youtube handle is @w46try7). The Dr. Ruckman commentary comes from him. Dr Ruckman, Romans Study, 28 & 29 Dr. Ruckman claims ancestry from the Antiochene school of thought, and I believe this is true. This is Dr. Peter S....
This has every single Diodorus of Tarsus, or some say Diodore of Tarsus commentary on Romans side by side with the adjacent John Wesley Romans commentary. As Diodore of Tarsus only quoted on parts of Romans. John Wesley's commentary will only be on the same verses. If John Wesley didn't have...
There happens to be an anachronism that Diodorus of Tarsus, or some say Diodore of Tarsus taught theosis, this is not true.We can understand this by reading his text.“Necessarily he set forth ‘those who call upon him.’ For God does not give grace without discernment, extending it even to those...
There seems to be a rather unfortunate mistake held by some people, that Diodorus of Tarsus's writing "to pray and to ask" is in reference to baptismal vows. HOWEVER, a reading of Diodorus of Tarsus shows that this is wrong, and that it is instead referencing asking God for the...
Diodore of Tarsus, or, as some name him, Diodorus of Tarsus, and His Universalism in Light of His SoteriologyMuch has been said concerning the universalist views attributed to Diodore of Tarsus, or, as some name him, Diodorus of Tarsus. These views, however, must be examined in light of his soteriology,...
I discovered he had rather contradictory views on Baptismal regeneration. His beliefs on the Baptismal regeneration is rather contradictory. “What kind of sin will not have dominion? That which was before baptism, which the grace of Christ forgives” - Diodorus of Tarsus/Diodore of Tarsus, Romans 6:12-14 How is the grace of...
We find in Diodorus of Tarsus’s commentary on Romans 10:11-13.“Necessarily he set forth ‘those who call upon him.’ For God does not give grace without discernment, extending it even to those who are unwilling to offer so much to the Benefactor as at least to ask and pray with him....
Diodorus of Tarsus/Diodore of Tarsus taught in this a petitonary salvation: salvation by believing and asking God (Romans 10).Diodorus clearly taught that grace is received by belief and by asking/praying“Necessarily he set forth ‘those who call upon him.’ For God does not give grace without discernment, extending it even to...
He teaches salvation is in Romans 10 (belief + asking God). Diodorus did teach petitionary salvation.Diodorus of Tarsus/Diodore of Tarsus was the teacher of John Chrysostom, and the founder of the Antiochene School of Thought.Antioch was literal, the Alexandrian School of Thought was spiritual. Many men like Dr. Peter S. Ruckman...
