Overcoming False Doctrines Require Quality Time in God's Presence - Raising Zion

“Wind of change” was a popular song in its time, created during a time of political power shifts. While the song may have gotten old, the essence remains as power shifts continue to happen globally.

What else was involved in bringing down the house of the foolish man? The winds destroyed his house because of the weak foundation. When nature wreaks havoc, it leaves behind the need to start again. A house with a weak foundation is like a plant with weak roots.

Such is the power of false doctrines as well. It completely uproots everything we learned earlier. When we lose the discipline of walking in the Word, we get carried away by whatever we hear around us or is available now.

False doctrine is like the wind that can carry us away from everything we learned in Christ (Ephesians 4:13-15). Some children are confident about their walk. The lack of experience leaves them unprepared for the challenges they will need to face ahead.

The foolishness bound in their hearts guides them to taste everything available. Some end up going to extremes that have nothing to do with Christ. Some, led by their heart’s desire, end up hurt and depressed.

There is an urgent need to spend quality time in prayer and bible study personally. When we give our time to God, He nourishes us through the Holy Spirit. We grow to become wise children founded on the rock who is Christ.

What happens when we do not spend quality time in God’s presence without prayer and personal bible meditation?

We begin to blame people and situations. False doctrine finds its way only because sound doctrine lost its way in your heart. The Holy Spirit counsels us and guides us in the way of God.

Today, many remain confused with teachings and doctrines and move from church to church. They rely on websites instead of trusting the Holy Spirit to guide them.

Believer, get down on your knees and fight like a man Jesus. He answers the sincere call of the troubled.

Maranatha, Praise God, Amen.
